Topic: Scale-up of a laboratory-determined process for purifying radium to produce actinium-225 at the cyclotron.

• Breaking open radium ampoules
• Preparation for irradiation of the target
• Cleaning of the irradiated target
• Purification of the resulting actinium 225
• Filling of the purified Actinium 225
• Recycling of the residual radium for re-irradiation

Your tasks:

• Development of solution approaches and concepts (using existing or modified components)
• Support of process engineering planning and simulation (P&I, definition of measuring points)
• Manufacturer inquiries
• Carrying out process engineering test series on self-created test setups
• Evaluate, interpret and document the results obtained.
• Support in the preparation of specification requirements, supplier inquiries and supplier selection

Our requirements:

• Degree in natural sciences or engineering (preferably AFE, chemical engineering, chemtronics, process engineering, physics, or similar).
• Interest in putting development results into practice
• Independent and self-reliant work, with basic willingness to travel
• Ability to work in a team and communicate with good German and English skills
